The state regional educational institution of
secondary vocational education "Ulyanovsk college of culture" was founded in
1967.
The college teaching staff is made of experienced,
creative and respected teachers. The teaching
staff forms the spiritual potential of the region, participates in the cultural
life of the city and region. The teachers sit in judgment, give consultations,
design and organize certain regional projects, together with their students
participate in a variety of professional contests, competitions, festivals and
holidays of different levels. They also conduct seminars and master-classes,
practical demonstrations not only in our region but also outside it. The
academic activity is based on the innovative methods of training.
Many of the teachers are the recipients of state awards: 4 teachers have the
title of "Honored Worker of Culture of Russia", 1 person is an "Honored Worker
of Culture of the Ulyanovsk region; 4 people are “the Honorary workers of
secondary vocational education», 4 people have been awarded for "Achievement in
the Arts" and 1 person - “For the excellent work”,
1 person is a candidate of historical sciences, and there are 3 Members
of the Union of Artists of Russia.
Graduates of the school possess the necessary theoretical
and practical skills. Working in children's arts schools, comprehensive schools
and
children's creative centers, they can organize
different, both individual and large-scale events, train a creative team and
raise it to a high professional level , and also cultivate in children a feeling
of love to folk art and high art. The college
graduates continue their education at the leading universities of Moscow, St.
Petersburg, Kazan, Samara and other cities of Russia.
The Ulyanovsk College of culture is proud that many former students are now the
State Prize Laureates, People’s and Honored Artist of Russia, Honored Teachers
of Russia, Honored Workers of Culture of Russia. There is hardly any cultural
center or Children's School of Art in the region, where there are no graduates
of the Ulyanovsk College of culture among the teaching staff. For many students,
it is a family tradition to work as a cultural worker.
Education
The normative period of a full-time course on the basis of basic general
education makes up3 years and 10 months. On the basis of secondary (full)
general education it amounts to 2 years 10 months.
Education is provided on budgetary, extra-budgetary and
contractual basis. Social scholarships are paid to needy students; general
scholarships a paid on the session results.
The Ulyanovsk college of culture provides education on
the basis of a license issued by the Committee on Supervising and Control of
Education of the Ulyanovsk oblast ¹ 308173, registration number 0545 dated June
26, 2009 in the following specialist fields:
071302 "Socio-cultural activities and folk arts". Specializations:
"Choreographic work" (full-time and external form of education)
"Folk choral work" (full-time form of education)
"Instrumental creativity" (full-time form of education)
"Production of theatrical performances" (full-time and
external form of education).
070602 "Design"
(in branches) (in the field of culture and art), (full-time form of education)
071202 "Library Science" (extramural studies)
The college provides curriculum of secondary
vocational education of basic level.
For a high-quality selection of applicants, the college
carries out career-oriented work with school students, as well as organizes
training courses for the applicants of the "Design" specialization.
The college also provides the refresher course, which includes programs of additional
professional education for specialists aimed to enhance their professional
knowledge, improve their business skills, and train them for the new functions.
The refresher course is designed for
workers of the socio-cultural field.
When organizing the refresher courses, the groups are formed in accordance with
the level of education of students, their position and experience of practical
work. The training is carried out by the permanent teachers of the Ulyanovsk
College of Culture, lecturers invited from the Ulyanovsk universities, leading
specialists of cultural institutions.
Student Government
Organization and coordination of educational
and extracurricular work is executed by the student government. The Student
Government of the College is composed of the student councils, headed by the
Chairman and includes 5 sectors («Knowledge”, “Culture and Leisure”," "Health",
"Patriot", and «Protection")
.
The main task of the
pedagogical work with students is to provide conditions for their active life,
civic self-determination and self-realization, intellectual, cultural and moral
development.
Pedagogical work is carried out in the following
directions:
Professional training,
which focuses on the formation of educational and nurturant space in the college
and also includes the organization of the teaching process and carrier
education:
Spiritual and
moral education.
Spiritual and moral education aims to form a creative,
highly cultured, active, viable, tolerant person who can think and act
independently, live in rapidly changing environment and self-actualize in life.
Civil and
patriotic education implies the development of active civil position,
feeling of responsibility for
own political and moral choice. It is an integral part of
citizenship, developing in young people a feeling of national identity,
including patriotic feelings and sentiments.
Humanitarian and aesthetic education
Aesthetic education is one of the pillars of the college
educational activity, since its graduates are expected to generate aesthetic
sensitivity among the visitors of cultural and leisure institutions. As part of
aesthetic education the students study the history of his native land attending
various exhibitions at the museums of the city and region, theaters and cinemas.
Healthy lifestyle
promotion.
An important aspect of the educational work is the
healthy lifestyle promotion. The health promotion program in the college is
implemented both during the educational process and at extracurricular time:
trough the sport-mass events, through thematic class hours, meetings with
interesting people, wall-paper information. The People's Theater of small forms
"Rampa" annually stages anti-drug performances. Students of "environment design»
specialization take part in the competition of anti-drug posters.
Creative groups on the Ulyanovsk College of culture
The students absorb professional knowledge and skills not
only in the classroom, but outside the school hours as well. The school has two
creative teams bearing a title of "National team": Singing and Dancing Ensemble
“Volzhanka” under the leadership of N. Arinina and the Theater of small forms "Rampa"
headed by A. Solovieva and V. Surkov.
The teams take an active part in concerts and cultural
and recreational activities held in the city and region. The teams and their
soloists have been many times awarded with diplomas at the regional,
interregional and All-Russia competitions.
Being a member of such a team any student gains an
excellent opportunity to realize his abilities and talents.
