The State regional educational institution of secondary vocational education "Dimitrovgrad
College of Music” began its functioning in September, 1 1969. It serves as a
methodical center for teachers of Children's art colleges of the city and
districts, and a center of musical and aesthetic education for the residents of
the city and the left-bank part of the Ulyanovsk oblast.
The Dimitrovgrad College of Music is a unique community of professionals whose
mission is to instill spiritual values in people, show them the unique
peculiarities of music. Its founders were the heirs of the best traditions of
national culture - the graduates of the Kazan, Novosibirsk, Saratov and Tbilisi
Conservatories and the Ufa Institute of Arts. They have laid a strong foundation
for the educational activity of the collective.
It became a tradition to hold final concerts by the
students from different faculties. The busy concert life of the Music College is
due to the creative achievements of its students, who demonstrate professional
performance training. The students’ life within the walls of the college is
accompanied by a variety of events. Studies are combined with musical evening
concerts, organized by the students. From the traditional amateur concert party
- " Student Initiation", to the final concert devoted to the "Graduation" – the
students have a lot of opportunities to show their talents in various genres of
art and not only in music. Very popularity among the students is "Concert -
contest “, where the students perform their own compositions in various genres:
from vocal execution of own romance to the large instrumental composition in
jazz adaptation.
The high level of teaching in the department is proved by the fact that every
year the graduates enter higher education institutions to continue their musical
education in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod, Astrakhan,
Samara and Ulyanovsk. During the years of work, the music college has been
changing the approach to teaching regularly introducing new technologies, but
some things always remain unchanged. These are the professionalism of the
teaching staff, high standard of education quality and a love of music, which
the students keep for life.
Education
The Dimitrovgrad music college trains
professionals in different specializations. The college implements educational
programs of secondary vocational education of higher level.
The form of study at the college is full time; the
normative period of study makes up 3 years 10 months (higher level) on the basis
of basic and secondary (complete) general education. During the training the
students complete their 11-year basic education.
The education is provided on a budgetary basis (free) and
on a contractual system. The students from needy families are paid a social
scholarship; all the students get their scholarship in accordance with their
session results. Non-resident students are provided with accommodation.
The College carries out its activities under the license
from the Department of Education of the Ulyanovsk oblast series ¹ 3801 of
September, 28 2005. Under the license, currently the Dimitrovgrad music college
trains specialists in the following specialties and specializations:
070106 "Choral Conducting"
070102 "Instrumental Performance"
- "Piano",
- “Orchestral stringed instruments”,
- “Orchestral brass and percussion instruments”,
- "Instruments of Folk orchestra”.
The students also study the general disciplines: musical
computer science, mathematics, geography, natural science, Russian language,
literature, sociology and political science, philosophy, pedagogy and
psychology, etc. The physical training includes: swimming pool, ski training,
skating, table tennis, athletics, - conducted on the basis of the Palace of
Sports "Dolphin", the Stadium “Builder”, the club "Table Tennis ". Musical and
theoretical disciplines: solfeggio, elementary music theory, music literature,
harmony, etc. In classes of music-theoretical cycle, the students have the
opportunity to prove themselves as novice composers: improvising on solfeggio
classes; arranging melodies on the lessons of harmony, composing musical
miniatures on the lessons of improvisation.
Creative groups of the Dimitrovgrad Music College
The Dimitrovgrad Music College is not only a center of aesthetic and musical
education for all strata of the
Dimitrovgrad society, but also a methodical center of training for teachers of
elementary music education of the left-bank part of the Ulyanovsk oblast. At the
concert hall of the college regularly perform such student groups as:
- Student Choir of the conductor and choir department and
Chamber String Orchestra under the leadership of A.V. Kulikov, an Honored worker
of culture of Russia.
- Brass Band under the leadership of G.A. Hasiyatullova
- Orchestra of Russian folk instruments under the
leadership of I.M. Maslennikov
- Folk band, vocal ensemble "Inspiration" under the
leadership of L.B. Vatyukova
- Vocal Ensemble "Kompanelli" under the leadership of
G.A. Starozhukova.
- Vocal Ensemble "Primavera" under the leadership of T.Y.
Pashutina.
Projects implemented by the Dimitrovgrad Music College.
Annually the Dimitrovgrad Music College holds
among the students of Children's art schools the zonal competitions on the
specializations: piano, general fortepiano, folk orchestra instruments, and
orchestral string instruments.
Every year they hold
the City choral festival "Voices of
spring", which is attended by all comers, regardless of their professional
training.
Traditionally, they hold
the Interregional Festival "December Evenings in province”. Every
Thursday of December they traditionally arrange concerts where artists of
Dimitrovgrad and the Volga cities perform.
There is also an
Interregional Festival "Christmas evenings" where the student groups from
the music schools of the Volga cities take part.
Every two years they hold
the Violin Music competition among the students of the Dimitrovgrad
Music College and the students of children's art schools.
The annual Gala
Concert "Starlets of Dimitrovgrad” is conducted with the participation of
all the winners of various competitions and festivals of the year.
